Despite repeated statements by politicians in the media about sufficient supplies, stockpiling can still be observed in the food trade.
The DHV therefore demands: Politics must fight stockpiling hamster purchases more vigorously!
The colleagues on site and in logistics work to the limit and beyond. They achieve top performances like never before in the post-war period! They are overworked just because people are stockpiling. A Sunday opening can only be a temporary solution, because the health of retail employees is particularly important in the current situation. Collective agreements and company agreements must still be observed!
Statements by the Federal Minister of Food and the trade associations during the federal press conference are apparently not sufficient. Stronger PR-work must be performed here. But not only politics, also retail employers in this situation have to participate more frequent and more active in the media to get this situation under control!
In addition to the health sector and security authorities, trade helps to maintain public order. In other words: the trade is also systemically relevant! That must be recognized in the future!
For the areas of trade that are threatened due to government measures, unbureaucratic solutions have to be found faster!
We demand appreciation of all employees in retail – on site in the stores and in logistics! Appreciation from customers, but also from the responsible employers and politicians! The DHV therefore appeals to those responsible: Act!
